Apple Crumble with a Rock n Roll Twist


Autumn is here

With the storm Simone there is really no doubt that the colder and darker times of the year is here. But as Sara was pointing out last week , there is a lot of good things that come with this time of year. Like apples!

I am not that much of a baker, but the other day my wonderful colleague Anna gave me some delicious apples from her garden apple tree. Super tasty!

What’s also super tasty is apple crumble with vanilla sauce right! So I decided I would make one. I am sure you all know how to make one by heart because it is so ridiculously easy. But just in case you do not – this is what you need:

For the Crumble

  • 100 gram butter
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 2 dl flour

Just mix it all up in a bowl!


To make my pie a little bit more exciting and tasty I added another ingredient – Jack Daniels Whiskey!

So after I cut my apples into slices I put them in a bowl and soaked them in the liquor for a little while. Basically during the time when I was mixing the crumble together. But I am sure that the longer you let them soak the better it gets.


When everything is mixed and done – Put your whiskey soaked apple slices in a buttered oven tray and sprinkle some cinnamon on top.

Cover it all with the crumble and then let it bake in the oven for about 30 min on 200 degrees, or until the apples gotten soft.

Don’t forget the vanilla sauce…

When it’s done, let it cool for a little while. Put some of the pie on a plate, vanilla sauce on top – and have a bite of your delicious apple crumble with a rock n roll twist!
